Coy I went to your QRZ page and saw the picture of your new tower with 
the SteppIR. That is a FB setup!!

I have had some antenna damage over the years from big ice storms. Last 
summer I took down my old Log Periodic and replaced it with a Cushcraft 
MA6B mini beam. Believe it or not the performance with the mini beam is 
just about the same as from the old Cushcraft ASL-2010 log periodic. A 
bonus is that the MA6B also includes 6 meter coverage.

I took down the log periodic because the boom to mast clamp was always 
slipping. Also the elements were rotating away from horizontal during 
big wind events. As I get older I am less interested in the maintenance 
required to keep a "big" antenna on the air.
