OKDXA Fall Banquet Announcement
The OKDXA Banquet is set for Saturday October 19th. Start time is 6PM. It
will be held in the meeting room at the Cattle Country Lodge, 1200 N. 8th
Ave., Stroud, Oklahoma. The banquet fee will be $15 which includes a buffet
meal.
Our guest speaker this year will be Bill Priakos, W5SJ, of Ft. Smith,
Arkansas. Bill will do a presentation about the TX5T Austral Islands
DXpedition. Bill was one of the operators for that expedition and is
scheduled to go with many of the same group to TX7T Marquesas in November of
this year. Bill has operated from numerous DX locations through the years.
He brings a wealth of DXing knowledge and I am looking forward to hearing
his presentation.
By the way, we pay a fee for the meeting room and we have a commitment to
a minimum of 25 meals to reserve the room. The OKDXA Board of Directors is
asking for your support. We would like to keep the banquet fee low, but we
need your help to do so. We had an attendance of 12 at last year's banquet.
We cannot continue having this event for an attendance of 12. We need your
attendance! We need you to bring someone with you. Our banquet is open to
everyone, not just OKDXA members. If you are a member of another club,
announce the banquet at that club's meeting. Invite your ham friends. We
also encourage everyone to bring something for the club raffle and buy some
raffle tickets. This is a fund-raiser for the club. The funds we raise allow
us to support more DXpeditions.
Bill will give us a nice presentation about the TX5T Austral Islands
DXpedition. Let's show our appreciation with a good turn-out...
Please RSVP with your name and callsign and number attending if more than
just yourself to Kim at cw_de_n5op at sbcglobal.net or Jeff at k5we at arrl.net .
Thanks...
Hope to CU there...
