[OKDXA] OKDXA Web Site News

My, my, what a shame this pathetic fiasco has been! Randy, N0LD, has managed to virtually destroy the OKDXA...as far as we’re concerned.
The way Gene Lewis, W5LE, was effectively and summarily dismissed as our webmaster, when brand new member, Randy, N0LD, opined that he judged the Associaton’s website to be in need of significant updating, and that he would volunteer to see that it was “improved,” was, in vivid retrospect, unconscionable.
We have visited personally with Gene, and we’re reporting that even if our membership would now collectively and sincerely express its sincere regrets, it’s too late. Gene is not going to participate in OKDXA affairs any longer...period!
For the Lewis family, this issue has precipitated the end of a faithful, but sadly, thankless tenure, when Gene and Kelly labored to kept our group functioning and viable.
We will no longer renew our membership,
Jim, K5GZ & Ilene, K5IH

>> Our VP, Randy Wing, N0LD, has begun the work on recovering you ability to log in and use the site. I'm not certain what happened, but all user information was lost and requires a complete recovery. Randy has been working over 60 h a week at his job and simply hasn't had the energy to do much else. Add to this that Randy didn't have the time to train anyone else on maintaining the new website.
>>
>> You should each receive an email from the OKDXA web site telling you what your username is and providing a link for you to set your own password. If you don't, please contact me and Randy (winger55552001 at yahoo.com). This may take a couple of days, so please be patient. If you haven't seen anything by Wednesday, drop us a note.
>>
>> We've decided to address maintaining our web site by forming a small web committee (3-4 people) so as to avoid a single point of failure -- which is what we just went though. Dave Rossbach, N5DJR, has offered to help out with this -- we'll happily entertain other volunteers!

The URL has changed. Now it is "www.k5eok.org/okdxa/". When you go to the URL you will get into the "public" portion of the OKDXA website.

Then then enter your USERID and PASSWORD. Now when you go to restricted pages they should work OK. For example, to get the member ship list go to: " About OKDXA --> Membership -> Member's List". The members list comes up FB but it has not been updated yet to reflect latest status with people who have recently paid 2019 dues.
