Kim:
I guess everyone has their own list of "rare" ones. If you have not yet
worked it then it is "rare". Here are the ones I still need for an ATNO.
I have been fairly diligent in trying to work every DXpedition that has
been on since about 2004. I did miss the North Korea operation which was
only a single op who was on for a few hours.
Here is my list: North Korea, Crozet, Johnston, Kerguelen, Bouvet, San
Felix, Turkmenistan, Pratas. As you know, the Bouvet guys had to
cancel their trip when they were only a mile off the shore of Bouvet due
to engine trouble. I think they will go back in a year or so. I think
ham radio is illegal in Turkmenistan so I don't expect any activation
from there in the foreseeable future. It will be a while for Johnston
also since the US Fish and Wildlife service probably won't give a permit
for any one to go there since they have just issued the permit for
Baker/Howland. I'm waiting with baited breath now for Baker/Howland
which is due to fire up in the second half of June.
