[OKDXA] Dissension with ARRL Leadership and Board of Directors

I guess most of you have read the recent postings to the OKDXA refrector 
regarding conflicts with the management and board of the ARRL.

I'm completely in the dark as to what the underlying problem is but it 
seems to me that it is unlikely to be something related to traditional 
ham radio interests such as whether Podunk Island should be added to the 
DXCC list or whether the daily bulletins from W1AW should change the 
times / bands.

There is some type of deep splintering going on that left unchecked is 
going to ruin the ARRL. I completely support the Director and Vice 
Director of the West Gulf Division.

Does any one know what the underlying problem is?

[A]  Is it that some guys are into DX while other are contesters?  -- 
probably not the problem
[B]  Is it that some guys run ICOM while others run Elecraft and still 
others use Kenwood? -- probably not the problem
[C]  Is it that some guys run VHF / UHF with handi-talkies while others 
run HF? -- probably not the problem

So what is the problem?
