Gene:

I have been listening all day on various frequencies that EP6T is
operating on but I have not even heard him. There are tons of spots of
him being on either 40m CW, 40 RTTY, or 30m CW or 30 RTTY but I can NOT
hear him. He has been working stations which are in W8, W3, W4, W1, and
W2 as far as I can tell from listening to who is calling him and who is
spotting him. I don't have a decent antenna for 30m / 40m but usually I
can at least hear the DX if they have a decent signal -- even if with
this marginal antenna I can't break the pileup and work them.

It could be that the path to IRAN falls off a cliff when it crosses over
the Great Lakes. I don't know. All I know is that "everybody" to the
east of OK seems to be working / calling him and I can't even hear him.

Just this morning (local time) I worked a guy in OMAN [A4] on 20m SSB
solid as a rock. So if EP6T spends some "quality time" on 20m (i.e.
between about 1300-1700 UTC long path or 2200-0300 short path) then
maybe I'll have a shot at him.

There have been the usual policeman hanging around but the pileups are
not too bad -- at least that portion of the pileup from USA that I can
hear.

One thing I can tell from listening to the pileup is that the rate of
working stations by EP6T is SLOW. Maybe one QSO per minute or even one
every couple of minutes. They need to get Wild Bill [N2WB] in there to
cut that pileup down to size. He can take the most unruly pileup and cut
it down to size in no-time.

I need IRAN as ATNO so I'll keep hanging out and see if I can find him
on when I can hear him -- which is probably going to be 20m, 17m, or
15m. My Inverted "V" fan dipole for 30m / 40m is evidently not up to the
task.
