Subject: [OKDXA] DXCC Listings -- Five Year Trend
I have been taking snapshots of the PDFs from the ARRL website for the daily
DXCC listings since 2006. I have snapshots from several times per year from
2006 to the present. Before 2010, I only took snapshots of the MIXED
listings.
Here is the summary of MIXED, PHONE, CW, and RTTY listings from today vs.
2010:
=====================================================
Date of summary -- January 1, 2015
Calls Honor Roll USA*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIXED 24393 4755 12948
CW 10989 1567 5202
RTTY 3805 144 1707
PHONE 16900 2464 9121
Unique calls the Honor Roll for one or more modes = 5172
=====================================================
Date of summary -- July 20, 2010
Calls Honor Roll USA*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIXED 18921 4558 10261
CW 8234 1313 4026
RTTY 2147 87 1006
PHONE 14086 2472 7640
Unique calls on Honor Roll for one or more modes = 5108
======================================================
* For the purposes of this tabulation the USA column includes those calls
starting with AA-AL, K, N, or W. So the USA column includes any "entity"
that is US territory such as "continental
48 states", Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, etc.
I think the bottom line is that the DXCC program is holding its own over the
last five years in terms of participation. As some ops become silent keys
others that are new to the DXCC program take their place. Comparing the
number of calls on the MIXED DXCC list in 2010 vs. today see an growth of
approximately 28%. So I guess that the DXCC program is alive and well.
Each of the snapshots I have is a complete listing for that mode/date.
So, for example, I can look at the MIXED DXCC for K5RKS for October 31,
2006 and see that my DXCC count was 220.
I'm wishing all of you a Happy New Year. See you in the pileups for Navassa,
Iran, Eritrea, Bouvet, Heard Island, etc. in the upcoming weeks, months, and
years.
BTW: The W1AW/x operations during the 100th anniversary of the ARRL were
outstanding. I logged 743 W1AW/x QSOs
