I might also add that Gil wouldn't have been that last man standing if not
for someone that gave his ticket up two hours before the event..

I will take bribes next year or the highest bidder..

It is probably good I didn't make my living as a journalist. Having a good
memory is probably a requirement.

I failed to include two ( at least ) Oklahoma relatives in my list of Ham
Com attendees. I use the term 'relative' loosely with the first call
sign. He is referred to as the Godfather so he must be a relative - at
least part of some family.

K5XA - John Guida - ex Okie and OKDXAer was in attendance and won a nice
Array Solutions Antenna Analyzer at the W5DXCC Dinner. I understand Guida
had been telling Array Solutions Jay Terleski all day that he would be the
winner of the device. I guess there could have been some kind of contract
out on Jay if he failed to pull K5XA out of the drawing bucket. Hard to
know - sometimes there are rough crowds at these hamfests.

In addition to John, and I'm glad Gil has no use for email, W5NUT Gil Wood
was the last standing for the DX count down with 383 countries! Closest to
him was 374 and I don't recall who that was - runner ups get no respect.

And finally from Dave WØVX here is a brief description of what happened to
the CW Pile contest.

Last year the Kansas City DX Club loaned us the equipment and made a
unique CD for us to use. This year they switched to a multi-laptop computer
system that, as I understand it, was borrowed and couldn't be loaned.
