Six can be very spotty when it comes to DX...

Around 10 years ago I ran a 6 Meter FM net on Wednesday nights and in 
June or July had a new call check in. Sounded just like a local. Turns 
out the station was in Katy, TX near Houston and I was one of three in 
the net who could hear him. Within 15 minutes or so I lost him but 
another op in Bristow picked him up 5/9+. That's 20-ish miles away and 
the difference wasn't between strong & weak, it was between hear and 
no-hear.
