Top notch idea Ken - I shall stay clear of .041 since the Gator has been
known to "snap" if people encroach upon his space!
The FQP folks have this stuff down to a science so they are a good model to
follow. I'll tentatively use .039 - avoiding .040
as the QRP crowd will beat you into submission if you perch on .040!
Spreading out is definitely necessary and returning to where you were last
"heard from" works very well. Also, there will be folks
who ask for SSB when the crowd thins out. Using an odd freq. like .205 or
.155 away from the crowd works well.
Responding to one guy "SSB now" plus a freq. and at times you'll have
several "follow uppers" call you. What a blast!
Glad to hear the mobile rig is set. Have been testing antennas and ( this
year by golly ) a laptop! Looking forward to sending
the correct number of dits while crossing railroad tracks and moving along
some of the rougher roads. However the bug shall
be in parallel and paper at hand just in case technology fails me!
Thanks also for the kudos on the work. Have had some good help and input
for this year's running.
As far as being a fair CW op - takes one to know one!
