Hi everyone,

Please see the note that has gone out to the SARC members here in Stillwater. If anyone wants to attend, drop a note and I can be sure to get you a street address and driving instructions if needed.

Joe and Janet will be at the OKC luncheon the following Wednesday; however, Coy learned that the separate room is already booked and so it looks like the presentation will not be possible at the luncheon.

Malawi (Africa) Ham Radio Operators to Attend SARC Meeting Tuesday, June 5

Two UK ham radio operators who spend most of their time in Malawi (Africa) are visiting in Stillwater this week and plan to attend our Stillwater Amateur Radio Club (SARC) meeting Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM at the Salvation Army building. They are prepared to make a 35 minute presentation at the meeting if time permits. It is aimed at all comers, not just ham radio operators.

Joe Poole (G3MRC, 7Q7BP, C91MR, 5X1P, VK8CP, 9Q5MRC, etc.) and his wife Janet (M0JMP) live nearly full time in Malawi where Joe is a Telecommunications Consultant with UNICEF in Lilongwe. Joe is well known in DX circles and it is always a work of art to hear him handling a CW pileup on the HF bands. He is an FOC member. Janet is also active, preferring RTTY operation. They have been in Malawi for several years, helping the Malawi people make infrastructure and communications improvements for the benefit of all in the country.

If you know of someone who is interested in ham radio, Africa, worldwide public service, etc., bring them along.

Joe and Janet are staying with Ken and Lynn Case (K5KC and W5LC) Monday through Wednesday, June 4-6. They are nearing the end of their visit to the USA that included the Dayton Hamvention two weeks ago.
