Alan & members,

The Mosley elements only grew to about 2" diameter. Tulsa area seems to be
in much better shape
than points further East. We haven't been above freezing temps since the
first onslaught and won't
until Thursday, Last night low was 4 degrees F. Tonight is supposed to get
down to 2 F. Roads that
haven't been salted & sanded still have 2 to 3" of hardpacked ice,
Interstates are mostly one lane
but are somewhat passable. Accidents are everywhere on the roads here. We
rarely get an
opportunity to practice driving on ice here. Read on TV channel websites
that up to 120,000 households
and businesses were without power, shelters are overflowing and still
around 100,000 without power.

Nastiest weather we've seen in decades. Alan, have you been able to
contact your brother in MO?

We haven't had even as much as a flicker on the power. The Kohler's ready
but haven't needed it yet.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Guys:

Winter got here in southeast Mississippi overnight. I came to work this
morning and it was a windy 35 degrees after being 75 yesterday. They said
it will get a couple of degrees warmer today and then get down into the
upper 20's tonight. For this part of the country this is a cold spell.
But
it will warm up the rest of the week and be back up near 60 by the
weekend.
We got a good bit of rain yesterday and last night and it is a dark winter
day here today.

I did work VU7RG on 20 CW yesterday morning rather easily, but I had a
hard
time hearing them on the other bands because of everyone calling and
tuning
on their frequency. I have not tried to listen to them on phone yet.
Yesterday they seemed to be spotted more than the last group was, though.
But we cannot do much about propagation, can we? Good Hunting!

How are you guys fairing from the ice and snow?

73,
Alan, N5PA
