I would first like to thank Coy for setting me and the record  
straight.............
 
I received the story from another source and obviously  misunderstood the 
award and it's meaning.
 
For a long time I've been very upset with the operating  practices exhibited 
by DX ops. I'm sure you've all experienced the results when  you were in 
pile-ups for the VU4 and 3Y0 operations so further delineation  is not necessary. 
 
I've also noticed that some high profile DX'ers have begun to  publicly 
address these issues. I was very pleased to read an article a few mos  ago by 
Bernie McClenny W3UR in the NCJ which addressed many of these points.  I've wished 
for a national shame list compiled by those DX operations for  such flagrant 
fouls as when asking for a specific station only and many will not  comply. 
Even when the station asks 3 and for 4 times they continue to QRM the  QSO by 
continually calling.
 
In that vein I believed the award presented by K4UEE was  a retribution for 
such severe transgressions and that the DX community was no  longer tolerating 
such practices and would in the future begin to hold  transgressors 
accountable.
 
I had, for a few years, wire ant's only and could  probably hear 70 % of what 
you boys did and probably was able to work 80% of  that. I would become angry 
when trying to get my call thru, find a clear spot,  or to trace where he was 
listening to continually bump into the same stations on  the same band  I had 
heard being worked hours or nights  before.
 
I also know a few local hams who love to chase DX with very  modest stations 
and achieve pretty much the same results as I did. One young  fellow is on 
disability, with a family and limited income, has  missed some of the DX ops 
because their small sigs cannot be heard. While I  realize that superior operating 
skills many times overcome seemingly  insurmountable odds my heart goes out 
to these guys who are just beginning and  are trying to build those skills.
 
I sincerely apologize to N5ZM for painting him with this  brush. I only wish 
an actual perpetrator had been identified in his  place.
 
To whomever felt the need to forward my email to N5ZM I have  obviated the 
need for such action as he is listed as a  recipient.  I have no problem with 
such action though,  as I stand by my feelings, my words, and apology.
 
Now time for me to further investigate the Bush White  House......
