Fellow Dxers,
We have had an unfortunate event
occur. Mark put out a story about the DX pig award at HamCom that
was no where near accurate and drew some conclusions based on wrong
information. I didn't want in the discussion but was asked to
comment. Because of that, I kept my comments to a minimum and
unfortunately, I failed to state that the entire story was pretty much
bogus. Earl did work them 23 times and obviously no one else came
close to that record. However, the contacts were on multiple bands
and multiple modes. Earl, unlike the comments, is a good CW
op.
The award was given in a good spirit and wasn't
meant to slam Earl or anyone else for making multiple contacts. As a
matter of fact the team encouraged them. Unlike many dxpeditions in
the past.
Mark's comments were forwarded to Earl where they
were not received well.
Herewith is my apology to Earl for my
part in this mess.
I just wish I could have worked
them 23 times, especially on 160 meters! ;-)
