[OKDXA] IRC's

I am holding a quantity of the old IRC's that I have received in the past
and send to DX station to get a card. I heard a rumor that they expire at
the end of the year. I found the following info at www.n6hb.org/s-a/irc.htm
.

A new style of IRC has been phased in. For the first
time ever, IRCs now have an expiration date - 31 DEC, 2006. The older style
shown above continue to be accepted however. In fact, Section 372.1 of the
USPS International Mail Manual states, "The period of exchange of
international reply coupons issued by the Universal Postal Union on or after
January 1, 1975, is unlimited." This is in sharp contrast to the imprinted
expiration date on the new IRCs. Taken literally, it means that the older
IRCs are redeemable indefinitely, while the newer style are only good until
December 31st of 2006! Check back here for further updates.

Does anyone have any new info on this? Do I need to take my IRC's to the PO
and trade them for stamps?

Jim
