John, shortly after we moved here to Burns Flat, OK we had the same problem. But the AEP folks are out of the Clinton office and were very responsive. It was odd, but the guy who kept the noise checking equiptment was out of Lawton and came by here a couple of times to locate the problem. The individual out of the Clinton office that seemed the most intrested in the problem was Dwain Kamphouse. Office # 580-323-4411-----Cell # 580-445-7048.
All else failing, you need to call the Oklahoma Corp. Commission. I don't have the number handy but it's listed like the above name.
The problem was not completely resolved here untill the big ice storms and all the rebuilding pretty well fixed things.
GOOD LUCK BILL-W5VW

Has anyone had to contact the State Utilities Board in
the past? I need information on how to get ahold of
them. I am getting a great deal of powerline noise on
HF and 2 meters at my QTH, and American Electric Power
has been useless in trying to do anything about it.
They did send someone out a couple of years ago to
look at it, but he was pretty clueless and found
nothing. The problem has gotten worse since then, ane
18 months of phone calls to them have gone without
action. The ARRL says that the next step is to
contact the state utilities commission, and I am
hoping that doing so will light a fire under them.

73s John NE0P
>From RFI Noisy Lawton

__________________________________
Do you Yahoo!?
Friends.
