Sounds like it was a good time for all yesterday, regardless of the band
conditions. This was my first time in the party as I was kept off the air
last year by a bad piece of coax, which wasn't discovered until show time.

I was only on for 3 or 4 hours yesterday (SOLP from the house, Tulsa Co.),
but did manage to rack up 50+ Q's on 15M and 20M. 15M was in somewhat poor
shape, but I was able to work 18 stations, including the other Rhode Island
station K1NAP hi. Also worked NL7KF on 20M, as well as a few European
stations.

I could not hear any Oklahoma stations, but I did hear other stations
calling AC5UP, N5OK, W5TZN, and several others. Sounded like we were
putting on a good show. Things got a little confusing at one point. I was
calling CQ, and I heard a couple of stations coming back to "Yankee Alpha
Alpha?" to which I replied "negative, Yankee Alpha Charlie". This went on
for a short time until I realized that Dad and I were camped out real close
on 20M. Like I said, I couldn't hear anyone in OK (or KS, MO, and CO for
that matter). Hope I didn't encroach anyone's freq.

20M was getting pretty crowded from .250 - .270, and with the sun shining
so bright I also decided to do battle with the Chickweed. To my surprise,
the old Craftsman fired right up too. If your folks have a free push mower
in need of some minor work, I would also recommend it highly.

Chickweed 0 - OKDX'ers 2.

Sure had fun, and it sounds like others did too.

Has anyone heard from the Heathens?
