[OFARC] OFARC Digest, Vol 163, Issue 4

I can use a timer for EL check ins.

BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM. AS NET CONTROL, I AM SUPPOSED TO BE THE NET DISPATCHER OR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER. I HAVE SAID EL CHECK INS ONLY. AND AS SOON AS I UNKEY, SOMEBODY KEYS UP THAT MIC. I WAS TAUGHT LISTEN BEFORE KEYING.

One reason I am "formal" during the first check in round on our net. It is good for all to be reminded that, due to the nature of the net, the whole event is highly structured.

But after the first go around on OF, I do loosen up. We can have fun at that point.

Then again, we need NC's. Script is on website. So easy to follow, George Jetson could do it!

Hi Bob,

Ref. yr comment on Net attendees adhering to the Echolink 60 Sec timeout
viz.

* [?? I don't think you will ever get the guys to slow down or wait
soEcholink can work?? You tell them and tell them but they DON'T do it]*

So here's a request for the 4 OFARC Net Control Operators (that includes
me) to either look at their watch or have a similar timer available during
the Net via the Web,
and to attempt 'Drops' every 50 seconds or so.

Pls get back to me after the next Net and let me know if/how things have
improved.
