Hey Ralph,
Hope you And yours are doing well. I like all your ideas.
These are a few suggestions based on what I’m seeing here:
1. Weekly nets - have a portion of the net devoted to a tech subject. Not
too deep & technical but enough to motivate further investigation by some.
Recent examples:
-baluns & impedance matching xformers (3 part series in 3 Nets)
-how to Download pics from the space station using SSTV (2 parts in 2
nets)
-History of Morse code and how it’s still relevant today
-types of CW keyers and advantage/disadvantage of each
-FT8 intro & setup
2. Continue with the Monthly technical Zoom meetings. Those are a lot of
fun and very informative.
3. Have HF, VHF, Or VHF/UHF contests monthly. They can be done every
couple of months, in a specific frequency range, and for 1 hour in the
evening. Award points for distance, parts of the city, number of contacts,
etc. These are a lot of fun.
Anyway, hope that contributes to the flow of ideas and thank you for
spearheading this effort!
Make it a great day and stay safe!
73,
Stephen (OA4/W2WF)
