[OFARC] club member comments

Ok, over the past few months I have heard members make comments about things
they would like to do or learn about.

Our club president has twice requested that any suggestions be put into
writing.. so here goes.

 

Mentioned by more than one person. no particular order..

1.       Simplex communications check

2.       Learn about Traffic handling

3.       Club projects/kit building (I am guessing some can be done using
ZOOM, may take several sessions)

4.       Learn about ARES activities & nets in our area

5.       Joint activities with other clubs (lectures, classes, exercises,
special topics, museum ships weekend, ????)  I think this has been done a
time or two.

 

Things that I would like but don't recall hearing others mention:

1.       Outreach to the communities/schools/HOAs/special events

2.       Park activations by 2 or 3 people (city parks or state parks)

3.       Helping new comers get set up

4.       helping Hams with disabilities (like my student in Manvel.)

 

MAYBE some of these are actually being done already by individuals in the
club. why not let us know about them???

 

Ok.now they are in writing and out there for all to see.

 

EVERYONE needs to speak up and add others, or says yes or no to items above.

We may not have a place to physically meet right now, but most of the above
ideas do not require it.

 

As Hal has said. this is YOUR club.  

The officers cannot make things happen if they don't know what you want!

They are listening...
