I have put together some draft notes for presenting RADIO to the cub scouts this spring.

There are camps on 6 Saturdays this spring (see below) …. Camp Bovay,  near Navasota

we will need 1 or 2 operators for each date.

 

I can see using a basic fox hunt set up and/or  2m local communications to demonstrate the subject.

This will be for WEBELOS … 4th & 5th grade

Mr Ralph,

Thank you for the feedback on Fun With Son. I will be involved in that event again in the coming Fall and we will be including your group "officially" as part of the rotations.

 

I would like to work the radio station into the Spring Adventure Camp rotations. The goal is to expand what we offer to interest the older Cub Scouts known as Webelos (4-5 graders).

 

We offer Dino Dig at the Derrick area and it tends to be redundant for the older Cub Scouts that come out multiple seasons since 1st grade. The radio rotation at this station would supplement our Webelos program enhancements.

 

Our Spring dates are:

 

Saturdays - Cubs Scouts would arrive at the station as early as 8 am based on the number of youth we have to put through the 6 rotations.

If you would like to support this effort, we can review the STEM/NOVA syllabus and Webelos Adventure requirements. I also support the Summer Camp that runs July 8-29  but would like to reserve radio operation for Spring and Fall to keep the program fresh for each separate season.
