 CERT Rodeo 2/10/2018  - This event is one of the most exciting and active public service events in the Houston area. There are several new positions this year and your support and assistance is needed.

Equipment: Only an HT with a headset are recommended for this event. We will be using a communications trailer and simplex communications which offers excellent coverage for this event.

Susan G Komen Run For The Cure 1/27/2017 - This event has not had Ham radio support before. Your support and assistance is needed and appreciated. We will be primarily supporting first-aid communications for the Harris County Medical Reserve Corps who are supporting the event.

Benefiting: Komen Houston is proud to have invested over $52 million into our service area to date.
 The $1 million dollars Komen Houston is granting this year will support community education, screening and treatment through 18 local projects in all seven counties it serves, including Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery.
 Komen Houston funds breast cancer programs including:
Free mammograms and clinical breast exams for uninsured and underserved patients
Support groups for breast cancer survivors
Patient navigators, who help patients overcome barriers to care, have cut the no show rate from 40% to 10%
Free transportation to patients for breast cancer treatment

Equipment: Only an HT with a headset are recommended for this event. We have secured the use a repeater which offers excellent coverage for this event.
Location: The Komen Houston Race for the Cure® route is located adjacent to the beautiful Buffalo Bayou on Allen Parkway. Pre and Post Race festivities are held at Sam Houston Park at 1000 Bagby Street.
 Please note the start and finish lines are approximately a ½ mile from the pre- and post-race activities at Sam Houston Park, located at 1000 Bagby.
