[OFARC] Proposed Special Event Station

This was mentioned on the net last week, but not everyone gets on the net
... 

So, a quick note on a possible field activity.

I volunteer at the Science Museum SUGARLAND branch.

They are getting interested in amateur radio.

I spoke with them last week and they REALLY like the idea of a special event
station.

The volunteer coordinator asked me to start planning for Pi Day next year
(March 14).

 

They like the idea of spotlighting radio technology, showing how Pi figures
into the math, and "Radio circles the globe" . it all ties into the idea of
Pi.

 

Put 3/14/18 on your calendar for this special event.

It will  likely be at the Sugarland campus of the museum.
