Novice and advanced class are grandfathered in so its still in the band
plan.

The Novice allocations have been on the band chart since I was licensed in
2001, and surely before that as well. I remember I referred to the chart
and picked a spot in the Novice segment of 15 meters for my first QSO,
thinking that expectations of operators there might be nice and low.
Wikipedia has this on renewable Novice class licenses:

I was just looking at the ARRL Band Chart - Color - April, 2017

I noticed frequency allocations for NOVICES on 80m, 40m, 15m, 10m & 6m,
PLUS 2m and up.
Did I miss something ? Are they bringing back Novice licenses again ?
I know the old non-renewable Novice tickets expired many moons ago,
so there must be something in the works.
Anybody know ?
