We are coming into camping season, field day and radio in the park season..
That means we will need to raise an antenna or tarp for temporary use
the easiest way to secure a line is with a knot ... but which one???
the attached file includes some very easy and useful knots

here are my recommendations for when to use them ....
a.. square knot – tie two lines together
b.. double half hitch – secure a line to an anchor
c.. slip know – secure a line to an anchor
d.. one of favorites ....taught line hitch is used to secure a line to an anchor and then adjust the tension
yep ... adjust the tension AFTER the know is tied to the anchor
The taught line hitch acts like a turnbuckle on a cable.
tie the knot with only a little tension in the line and then pull the knot up the line to add tension
OR slide it down the line to give more slack

then the knot stays put where you want it.
