On Saturday 4 Oct, the Katy Amateur Radio Society will host a Houston area-wide 2 meter simplex contest event, open to all hams. 

  

Full details are posted on the KARS website at katyars.com. 

  

This will be an excellent opportunity to practice emergency communication capabilities without the use of repeaters. It will also be an nice introduction to radiosport.
