I picked up the non-functional power supplies today for our band pass project at $1 each.
I have 18 --- enough for 2 sets of filters; 10M, 15M, 20M, 40M, 80M, 160M.
That way we can make 2 sets or one set for the club and have cases for some of us to make 1 or 2 for ourselves.
I also picked up the #14 solid wire. It was cheaper than we expected.
I got the power supplies at a GoodWill “Computer” store at 12200 westheimer, on the north side of the street.
They have 2nd hand computers, monitors, hard drives, memory, wall warts, and other stuff for low prices.
A working 400W power supply is $15 –$20
They have a Dell desktop computer with 4G RAM, ,running Vista for $150
Also some HP machines for the same price range
Wall wart chargers from 3V-12V are $5 each.
(I think I will pick up a few next week to build a desk top power supply for my HTs.)
