Below are the minutes of our last meeting. Please let me know if any corrections or additions are needed.  Note - Our regular meeting is not until the 26th so an agenda for that will come later but I wanted to get these minutes out before January 10th as an extra reminder of the club Eating Meeting that day where you can enjoy good company and have a chance to win fabulous prizes.

New River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire Station #3

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM

Welcome from Cam Coble, President
Introduction of officers
Check-in of members

Reports
Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener
The October meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 11/22. No corrections or additions were received.

Treasurer’s Report – Steve Allen
Club finances in good shape. Will start with renewals for 2026 soon.

WinLink Update – Danny Wylam
Cloyd’s Mt. is now operational again. Brush mountain continues to operate fine except for when the computer battery ran down. Had to do some Windows updates.

Repeater Update – Cam Coble for Mike Herring
Having more interference lately. Hope to work on it soon.

Club Donation Acknowledgements
Laptop from Roger, N4FPA, will check it out.

Old Business

Battery back up at Brush Mountain. Discussed several options. Cam will make a plan and report back.


New Business
Nominating Committee – Jim Hassall, W4BEA (Chair) with Mike Herring. KE4RGY, and John Morehead, KO4OUE

The nominating committee was asked to prepare a slate of officers for the November meeting.

All four of the existing officers have agreed to serve for another year, As such, the nominating committee made the following recommendations:
President - Cam Coble
Vice President – Christopher Peters
Treasurer – Steve Allen
Secretary - Edward Lener

Eating Meeting in January – preferred date is January 10th.
Venue -Sal’s restaurant in Radford – Jim, W4BEA, will take care of this
Door Prizes – Christopher Peters and Steve Allen
2:00 PM Start time. Further details will be sent by email

Winter Field Day – Steve Allen
Checked with the Appalachian Conference Center regarding availability. Will plan to use the same location as last year. Contacts start at 11:00 AM. Further details will be sent by email.

Veteran’s Day – Danny Wylam
Day was bitter cold, but the group toughed it out. Made 157 contacts including one with the USS Hornet.  Had stickers made up for veterans.

Blings n Things – “Power Play: Batteries and Beyond” – Members discussed portable power sources, battery types, and solar solutions.


Meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM
