New River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire Station #3

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener
The August meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 9/21. No corrections or additions were received.

Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble for Steve Allen
Club finances in good shape.

WinLink Update – Danny Wylam
Cloyd’s Mt. is still down, Brush mountain operating fine. Computer is running Windows 10 which has end of service support Oct 14th.

Repeater Update – Mike Herring
Still waiting on some repairs. Haven’t heard any more recently.

Old Business

Veteran’s Day Special Event – Danny Wylam, plan to arrive and start setting up at 9:00 AM.  Will operate special event station W2B between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Christopher Peters tried to order a Quadplexor. Payments to Russia are currently not allowed. Need something to cover 10,15, 20, and 40 meters. So far have not found an alternate source that covers the frequencies we need.

Also checking on options for a new (or newer) laptop for Winlink. Cam may have an older one he can donate.

Blings n Things – “Emergency Essentials Go Kits” – Members showed off their go-kits and emergency communication setups.
