[nrv-hams] Fwd: Club meeting New Business

While well intentioned by Jim, it is a borderline on violating the rules on
compensation of the Hams.  We all knew going in we could be compensated for
expenses to an extent, like buying groceries for the Hams at Field Day or
maybe coax for the Club or whatever.  Anyway It is very borderline and
should be brought up to the ARRL's legal council to be checked if we decide
to go this route.  That in itself is going to take a long time if at
all, so beware.  Anyway I vote no as it should be brought up in an in
person meeting not on the air or via zoom or whatever.  At least till we
can get a secure zoom site like video chat to do this right.
As to privacy as far as repeater/zoom/whatever and voting.  That is a
fallacy as far as I am concerned. Most Clubs post their By-Laws online with
no thoughts of privacy as they are considered a public document.  Most
Clubs also put their Minutes of Club meetings online also as we do or
should so members who can't get to an in person meeting or over the air
type can actually keep up with the going on.  I'll take my case in
particular.   As much as I would love to get to the in-person meetings,
mostly just to see everyone, meet the newbys and and let them meet me, I
can't due to my health and lack of being able to drive anymore.  Now, if
there was someone in Floyd County who'd be willing to stop by on the way I
would happily attend. :)
