I have one, it's junk. I actually got it before the Baofeng. I've looked at SDR Play models too. My logic is if I get good reception, then I'll actually get the General license, and then I'd have a radio to begin transmission on, going SDR means I've 'wasted' that money on a receive only device that wouldn't be useful once I get a transceiver.
