Carter,
I thought you and Kay might like to look at this. Guy (Silent Key
W4STQ) was my electronics instructor at Surry Community College years ago.
Gray (WX4F) was one of my classmates and he asked Guy to come talk about his
experiences during the war. Come to find out Guy was in Berlin during the
airlift running a station in the attic of the barracks. Gray recently posted
the video up on youtube for everyone to see. To say the least we all
thought a lot of Guy and you will see from the video he was quite the
character.
I never registered my EMAIL with the re-director so you might want
to post it to the list for everyone to look at if they are interested. It
is an hour long but I think it is well worth the hour to watch it. Guy was
82 when he did the presentation. He suffered a stroke about 6 months ago
and passed away last month in a rehab center in Roanoke at the ripe age of
84.
