[nrv-hams] SKYWARN Recognition Day

This coming Friday evening, December 6, 2013, at 7:00 PM local time will be
the starting day and time of this year's SKYWARN Recognition Day.

The event will run until 7:00 PM on Saturday evening, Dec. 7th.

 

If you would like to operate from the SYWARN Desk in the National Weather
Service Forecast office, please let me know as soon as possible.

 

I know that Kay and I will be operating on Saturday morning, from 9:00 AM
until 12:00 Noon, on HF, using the Kenwood HF rig there, and the 80-Meter
Loop suspended above  the roof of the building.

 

Glen Sage W4GHS will be operating on the various 2 meter SKYWARN repeaters,
starting at 7:00 PM on Friday evening. Our repeater, N4NRV, on 147.180 is
one of the official SKYWARN repeaters, so please be prepared to answer
Glen's call for weather reports. If you need to know the other official
SKYWARN repeaters please contact me, and I'll get the information for you.

 

This is a fun operating event, and an excellent way to make sure all of your
radio equipment is operating properly, especially before the winter storms
arrive!
