[nrv-hams] Field Day Notes -- Please Respond

Dear Carter,

Thanks for the email. Field Day was a great experience. I learned a lot.

I'd consider adding a small vertical station for CW purposes. It might
foster learning, and give more CW time to slower copiers/transmitters.

It seemed that Friday wasn't necessary. It did allow some fine tuning, but
I'm not sure if being there so early was worth it. It might be better to
start early on Saturday.

Signing up for "shifts" on the radios might be an idea. Some people are
night people and some better in the day. I would have relieved Donnie on CW
when he went to bed - but figured he be on the radio all night. I didn't
tell him to wake me, because he had a numerical goal of contacts and I
wasn't aware of this. I don't know how some of the guys worked so many
hours.

The computer system was great. Phill's radio was amazing for SSB.

Thank God we did not set up THIS Friday night!

It was a great initial Field Day for me. Thanks to everyone.
