Hi fellow club members,

If our reflector will allow it, in a few days I will be posting some Field
Day (FD) photos taken by both me and by Donnie Coleman AB4I. Look to see if
you are in one! If the pictures won't go through the reflector, I will send
the pictures on to Phil Foster, our club webmaster, and I'm sure he will put
them up on our club's website.

Did any of you take photos also? If so, please send them on to me
(carter128 at verizon.net, or to Phil (philfoster at verizon.net). We had SUCH a
good FD, that we need to document it!

I, especially, want you each to send me your written comments on this year's
FD effort. What went well, and on what could we improve? What should we have
brought to FD, but left behind? I, for instance, forgot to bring my little
battery to use in conjunction with the solar panel! We lost lots of valuable
time trying to make something work which didn't--all because I left that
little battery at home!!! What an important learning there!

So that is the sort of thing I'm thinking about. Reflect now, while FD is
fresh in your minds, and see what you remember needed to be done. And could
we next year try some things we didn't try this year, some PSK-31, for
instance? With the new Band-Pass Filters, I'm wondering if PSK-31 would be
feasible.

And didn't the Band-Pass filters work well??!! I understand there was NO
interference this year from our own transceivers! Congratulations to all our
club members who gave up their time to wind those toroids, and to solder in
those capacitors! Donnie did all the final switch-wiring and the
tuning--thanks, Donnie! He says he will send me that photo of the inside of
one of the Band-Pass filters, so you all can see the final results of all
your group work. I'll see that that picture, and, perhaps, some of the
technical information from the tunings gets posted, and I shall ask Phil to
post that on the club's website, as well.

We did an outstanding job on Field Day this year. Ben KK4EWT, especially,
jumped right into the job that I was unable to do. Thanks to you, Ben! You
are ALL to be congratulated. Now, let's stop and remember how we can fix
what needed to be fixed, so that next year we might even exceed this year's
efforts. Please send your comments and suggestions on to ME at the above
email address, and I shall compile them into a report for a future club
meeting!

Thanks, everybody,

Carter N3AO
