Hi Patrick,
I think you are inquiring about the 01-08 that he and pothers are tagging
onto the end of an exchange?  If so that is his ITU zone at the end.  If you
could give me an example, I could help you a little more.  For information,
we in this area are ITU zone 08, CQ zone 05.    And I ran across this last
night, ARRL W-4?  Not to sure what that is though.
