Ron--

W9KIC has a Sony 7600 or something like it that was mine. It was immaculate
and working. He might part with it for little or nothing. I would suggest
looking on http://www.grove-ent.com/shortwavereceivers.html Once you scroll
past the $1,500.00 radios, there are plenty of decent receivers in the price
range.

Subject: [nrv-hams] Shortwave radio

I have a request to suggest a good SW radio for a birthday present for a 83
YO man whose good radio gave out some ten years ago. His wife is willing to
spend up to $100-150 for a good one. I am not current with that stuff, the
last SW radios I had were a Sony 2010 and a Grundig Yachtsman, many years
ago. They were both great. I suspect that now their are brands I have
never heard of!

Thanks in advance if you have some experience with this kind of thing.
