Hello NLRS land
We had right around 50 attendees for this years Aurora conference. The morning weather was perfect and the rain held off until late afternoon. Here is a short outline from the business meeting:
- KA9VVQ outlined for us that we had $933.39 of income (mostly from Aurora 2024 and some from CD interest) with $875.70 in expenses (again mostly for Aurora 2024 and some for sponsorships) giving us $6,595 in the bank. Financially we are in good standing.
- The NLRS.club website needs some updating to remove old weekly net meeting information that is misleading.
- W0AUS, our club call, is available to club members to use for the asking.
- NLRS will sponsor the CQWW VHF Top USA Rover (Combined Score) plaque for $55.
- Bylaw updates for what is a quorum and what is a member in good standing were outlined setting up for a vote in 2026
- May 30,2026 will be the date of Aurora'26, same location
- N0KP presented the Wesslund Award to Rob Jahnke, K0XL, this years recipient. The clubs website will be updated to reflect this.
- Thanks to the ARRL for the three prize drawing giving to three lucky winners who were in attendance
Following our business meeting K0SHF, K0RAE, K0XL, K0DSP, and AE0EE provide us with interesting presentations, many thanks to them. We already have two presentation on the docket for next year. K0SHF is going to do a "Part 2" on his RTL dongle presentation by talking about LNAs and filters to use with RTLs and K0XL will present on Antenna Modeling with 4NEC2. We have room for three or four additional presentation too.
I hope to see you all in Lincoln later this summer for Central States and if not there at the North Start Radio Convention on Oct 11 here in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Lots of radio contesting coming up with the ARR: June VHF contest this coming weekend, June 14/15 then CQWW VHF analog on July 5/6 and digital on July 19/20. The CQWW VHF contest is 6 and 2m only.
73, JonW0ZQ
