Decent fired day, considering busy regular schedule and errand. Ran as a 1C low power class. Rig was an Icom 706 into the roof mounted Valor ProAM 5 antenna on the suburban.
Claimed score was 13080 1 SSB40 9 SSB20 32 SSB, 11CW15 1 SSB
Bands were dead (upper ones) 10 was near graveyard status. 15 was not much better.
20 was the strong one but not near as busy as in the past. The antenna worked but was not really overly efficient on 40 and 80.
Then again, it may have been much better than I noticed as I'm used to running a G6RV And a Cushcraft A3, Instead of a, great but relatively inefficient, mobile setup. I did get a couple DX stations though. Germany and Serbia.
Finally got the keyer working right near the end (ugh I am rusty). By that time most stations had used up their time I think as it was sparse pickings all over after noon Sunday. Hopefully I'll get things put together and air tested for the UHF contest, IARU, and CQ VHF Worldwide contests this summer. 6 meters thru 432 and then 1296 hopefully...902 maybe later this year as well.
I modulate, therefore I am! ...73, and all that jazz, Dave...N9TTX Always remember: "It could be worse.....it could be raining." Marty Feldman from "Young Frankenstein"
