And guys in the metro, point out state! Even if you have a small
station! We CAN hear you! I announce the direction I am CQing, for a
huge reason, if you are more than 15 degrees off my beam heading hearing
you is extremely difficult, so please wait for me to come your way
before calling.
On 2 meters I run 4 yagis and my turning rate is slow, takes me 60+
seconds to go 360 degrees! So I refer to not make sudden turns off the
direction I am working. Band conditions will need to be really bad for
me to not hear you when pointed your way.
And announce your grid when you call! From North metro to south metro
for me is 25 degrees of az change. Knowing your grid lets me know where
to point!!!
And when working a station repeat their call back to them and the grid
square, helps others know who is on and where they are! Lets get back to
helping each other make QSO's instead of the hardcore contest mentality
that cropped up for a few years. And take turns calling CQ! And let
people finish a QSO before calling CQ again! Lets go back to what we
were like in the early 90's! When we cranked out some big scores all
over the state and that helps the club score!
