Thanks Donn.

Yes, it is true that this morning I completed my quest of working all
states on 222 MHz.  The paperwork has been filed so now I just have to
wait.  I've been on the band since the early 1990's - in fact W0VTT
noted that a couple of the paper QSL's he confirmed this afternoon were
from 1991.  I've collected grids and states over the years, but didn't
get really serious about trying to earn WAS until 2019.  At that point I
had less than half the states worked.  At this time last year I was just
north of 30 states worked and picked off a few here and there via meteor
scatter. The big push came last summer and fall when Peter, KA6U
embarked on a three month long EME rover expedition to 20 states on 2M &
222 MHz.  Peter gave me 11 new states during that run, plus he gave me
two more a week ago to get me to 49 worked.

Tom Whitted, N7GP, (formerly WA8WZG) contacted me right after I worked
#49 and we made arrangements for his trip to Nevada this morning.  EME
conditions were not very good and it took over an hour to complete using
Q65, but NV finally went into the log at 1304 UTC this morning.  I met
up with W0VTT this noon in Nelson, WI to have Mike verify cards for 8
states I only had confirmed via paper QSLs.  Everything has been
submitted so now I just have to wait to hear what number I'm awarded.
I'm assuming it will probably be #16.

Prior to this year it had been 35 years since the last WAS award was
issued for the 125cm band - all ten of those were completed when the
weak signal portion of the band was at 220.1 MHz.  There have been 7
more that have completed in the past two months: K1WHS, W5ZN, K5QE,
K1OR, N9HF, WA4NJP and me.  K1WHS has apparently been unable to locate a
couple of his old QSL cards so he has not been able to apply for the
award yet and may have to rework a couple states (hence the reason I
will probably get award #16 rather than #17.  There are three others I
am aware of who are at 35, 37 & 39 states worked.  KA6U is planning
another rove this summer (he says 40 states this time) so there may be a
few more guys finish this year.
