Hello  . Okay  , I'm  throwing in the  towel  as after  4 minutes of  continuous  cw and then FM carrier  ( checking for thermal drift  and any changes in output tuning  ) one of the bleeder  resistors decided  that  it didn't  like it  and gave up the secret  smoke  stored  within  while sounding like a  very large firecracker  ...I'm  calling it a success  now  after  I spent  hours  trying to get  RF out of a  bad tube ...... am getting the  RF output  desired , but the power  supply  just  needs a little  TLC ( going to replace the blenders with some 100w units that I have stashed .....  go figure  . 73 , Ron KA0RYT Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I have a  beacon  for  you  ..... I am  out  at the farm and am testing the  RCA / BURLE cavity amp  on 432 .035  ...... Went through a  bit of hassle  BUT replaced the  tube and  now am getting  1200watt  with 50 watts  drive  from the  FT991  ...... Am going to  play  with the plate  loading to see if I can get  any more  out of  it . This is amplifier  #2 that I have  modified  and built up from the FQA estate  ( a.k.a FQA SPECIAL  ) . SPECS are as follows  = 3400vdc plate voltage  and 700 ma plate current.  Running  now  at 1200w  out  read on a 2500w  bird slug . Running  into a new  FO25 at 20 ft . The  amplifier has slightly higher  gain than the  first one  but I  believe it is  because of the  higher  screen voltage  ( 550 versus  480 vdc ) ..... if anyone  wants to  listen in I'll be  testing  until  around  2 or 3 this afternoon  . I'll  point  to the  cities  for  now  ....Ron KA0RYT EN35ct Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.-------- Original message --------From: Barry Malowanchuk <ve4ma at shaw.ca> Date: 6/27/20  11:00 AM  (GMT-06:00) To: nlrs <nlrs at mailman.qth.net> Subject: [NLRS] Bands are Up Hi Matt, Conditions looked good earlier today here as well..sorry I did not think of you. I did look for the MPLS 222 beacon which I have never seen before, but nothing. I expect conditions will be good again tomorrow morning and certainly would be willing to try on 222 or other bands. Looks like summer morning enhancements will be with us for a while now Best 73 Barry VE4MA ______________________________________________________________NLRS mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/nlrsHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:NLRS at mailman.qth.netThis list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html______________________________________________________________NLRS mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/nlrsHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:NLRS at mailman.qth.netThis list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
