The pot on the rotor for my 222 and up tower appears to have bitten the
dust. It's been acting really flaky for awhile and finally decided to
go entirely. I am supposed to have a replacement pot delivered today.
I will have to see if my shoulder is up for pulling a rotor out today,
provided the wind stays down. I'm 13 weeks removed from rotor cuff
surgery on my right shoulder and don't have much strength in the
shoulder yet, so we'll have to see how it goes this afternoon.
Assuming I am able to get it replaced or repaired, I should be active on
6 - 1296 this weekend. At this point, despite a lot of effort, 2304 &
3456 remain inoperable.
If I don't get the rotor issue resolved, I'll mainly be on 6 & 2, with
possibly limited operation on the higher bands. The rotor does turn;
unfortunately I can't see the tower from the shack, therefore to see
where antennas are pointed I have to make numerous trips between the
basement and the front yard.
I will update the group here on the reflector later today.
