Back in the saddle...at least partially. Lol
It was great getting out and doing this again...hearing and chatting with everyone. Great meetup with Bruce and Janice down in EN33/43.
Definately was a test run at setup with a different vehicle and rigging. Nice thing about the suburban over the impala...the long booms fit better. I do know i have to rework the collapsible 6m 4element and get a ptt cord out the back of the 817 for the 6m amp...that relay chattering was driving me nuts. Other than some solder repair and such sat night and Sunday morning which gave me a late start, there were no mishaps. The only hardware complaint I had was not getting my 6m loop fixed and in the high winds over in EN55 sunday with the collapsible (swing out element) 6m yagi which made the elements ments look like a sculling team rowing the beam back and forth.
The 817 and the Amps worked well. Now I gotta brush up on 10 year old morse. Lol
Only 8 grids activated. I was hoping six would have opened up better...particularly sunday. I did get a few DN grids and others. All in all it was a good fun exercise after all this time off air. I think I put on about 600 miles...I'll have to look.
