Not much but Shelley and I had way too much fun with NAQP RTTY. Three of
my Qs were FT4 and I heard NO CW activity at all, which is really sad.

I hope Chris, VA3ECO, submits a log since he had neary 100 Qs in the
contest (SOSB LP/6) from EN29.

73,

Jack, VE3RUA/K0JP

Comments:

6 was hot early on Saturday but not so much afterward. I should have let
my XYL
start the NAQP RTTY at 1800 because she missed a bunch of Qs and mults on
10-meters which was very much open. The high point for me was having
VA3ECO call
me, allowing me to work my own grid! :>)

To be honest, I am not all that thrilled with digital modes because they
eliminate operator skill as a score factor. It was much more fun, several
lifetimes ago, running Sunday morning random meteors and tropo at W9HHX and
experiencing the thrill of working 6 or 8 east coast mults on an
otherwise dead
band.

That said, my XYL and I run low power and have VERY modest antennas and
digital
modes allow us to be somewhat competitive working grids, states, and
countries
that would otherwise be out of our reach. It is quite a conundrum.

I noted, before the contest was over, that some stations I worked had
submitted
to eQSL (I had not but was checking confirmations from NAQP RTTY, which
ended
Saturday night). I don't know if they uploaded real time or did so manually
before the contest end but it bothers me quite a bit because of the
temptation
to massage the log before submission.
