This type of GPS USB stick is quite common and easy to use.

I bought one like this because I prefer to have a cord long enough to
put the GPS on the dash or back deck of the car so it can see more of
the sky. But you don't need more than a minimal GPS lock to get a good
time lock. I could always use a USB extension cable with the previous
stick.

I expect that any USB GPS device will use a generic driver that looks
like a serial com port to the OS. I'd even recommend against any
device that did require custom device drivers. So I really doubt you
will have trouble connecting the GPS unless your OS is total garbage.

There is plenty of free software programs to sync your computer time
to the serial data. A search for "Windows gps time sync software" came
up with a large list. A similar search would find Linux and Mac
software. Go ahead and add the word "free" to the search.
