Sorry we didn't get to work you, Jon. I did very well in the 222
Sprint, although there are no local operators for the 'easy' QSOs, so
everything I do is DX from EN54 in Appleton, WI.
Unfortunately I rarely hear anyone in the Twin Cities direction in any
of the Sprints. Maybe next time, if alerted by a text message, I can
turn my beam your way at the proper time.
I had a clean sweep with Wyatt AC0RA/R and two solid contacts with Pete
K9PW/R.
I only worked Ron W9ZIH at 170 miles via SSB. Usually we are both very
strong. It was only S3 last night. I had 3 CW contacts. The rest were
on FT8 which is an extremely effective mode for DX contacts.
Maybe we'll work you for the 432 Sprint next Wednesday.
73,
Larry WA9TT

No CW this year despite making some calls. FT8 was interesting as I decode several stations that I was not able to get their attention. Decoded but not worked were K9PW/R, N9ISN, WA9TT, N9LB, and AA9MY. Perhaps my 100 watts wasn't cutting the mustard as there was a lot of QSB with our cold weather. I also heard/called W9ZIH on SSB, I think he responded to me, but I was not able to get a confirmation from him before he disappeared into the noise. A tip of the hat to rovers AC0RA and WA2VOI. Thanks for the Q's. The 222.060 beacon is back on again.
