 Hello NLRS Land!

Janice, KA9VVQ, Bruce, W9FZ, and Jon, W0ZQ will be presenting "Getting
Started and Having Fun Operating and Contesting above 50MHz" at SMARTSFEST
in Cologne, MN Saturday, September 28, 2019. Our goal is to drum up more
local interest in operating on the VHF+ bands. Our talk will focus on using
the HF+VHF/UHF multi-mode rigs that many hams already own for getting
started with VHF+ ops and contesting. Following the presentation, the 3 of
us will do a show-and-tell in the parking lot of our rovers to give the
attendees some ideas on how to get started with roving.

If you know of some hams that might be interested in getting into VHF+ ops
and/or contesting and roving, why not direct them to SMARTSFEST and our
talk for lots of good information! Better still, why not come out to
SMARTSFEST yourself and visit with your fellow NLRSers and then peruse the
tables to add to your collection of ham stuff!

For the NLRS's participation in SMARTSFEST, we've been given a free club
table. Donn, WA2VOI, will be manning the table and demonstrating some neat
stuff about working the microwaves. And, work schedule permitting, Warren,
WF0T, will be at the table demonstrating his latest light communications
rig(s).
