   Thanks all for your emails, ideas and offerings. Ted WBØTDV one of our local hams up here came to my rescue and made an offer that I could not refuse!! "Bill come and get it!" Thanks Ted!

   So I am a proud owner of a Motorola R-2004A Station monitor.
  Sig gen, spectrum analyzer and many more functions and works up to 1GHz.  It's on the bench and playing well. I am a Happy Camper!
  I am still looking for a KNOWN GOOD DDS based signal generator BUILDING project that would be stand alone. But now I am in no hurry :-) 

  If others have suggestions on builds, keep them coming.
