Another thought for Bill.... If your AD9851 DDS does all you need, why
not do a search for "arduino ad9851 dds" and see what you get. I'd bet
you can find multiple projects built around using an Arduino CPU and
LCD display to drive the AD9851 DDS module. I bet you will find
multiple projects that used that combination to build a simple antenna
sweeper and VFO. Use that Arduino software "sketch" and modify to do
what you want. And that solves the PC software problem too. The
Arduino IDE software is free and you can buy multiple CPU boards under
$10 to $20. Or you can roll your own sketch from scratch since there
are plenty of Arduino libraries for controlling the AD9851 and
connecting to various LCD or touch displays.
